I started the Sherpa Workflow
Program with over a thousand emails in my inbox and the feeling
of being overwhelmed. After completing and implementing the
program, I now have 30 emails in my inbox on any given day,
an organized system of tasks and projects, and most importantly,
a feeling of being in control of my agenda.
A specific benefit has been utilizing a task driven work process
rather than simply working out of my inbox. This has created
a shift from those items that are most urgent to those items
which are most important.

The Sherpa Workflow Program
has been enlightening and liberating. It has enabled me to
free up my mind and office of clutter while storing the information
I need to do my job effectively using the same software I
had been using, but maximizing it’s utility.
Before Sherpa, I was the epitome of the frazzled
executive, running from meeting to meeting with little time
to get to emails and other tasks. The most common question
I was asked was “Did you get my email?” Having
hundreds of emails in my inbox, I was sure I had gotten it
and also that I had not had a chance to do anything with it
yet. Just to get work done, I often start my day at 5 am and
end at 9 pm, which didn’t go over well with my family
and left me no time to decompress before starting the whole
cycle over again.
Once I implemented Sherpa into my life, I
was able to manage the hundreds of emails I received and cut
back on the “Did you get my email?” question as
well as on the extra hours I had been working. For the first
time, I am now able to clear my inbox and also my mind of
the clutter that was hindering my chances at having time to
be proactive and think creatively instead of being reactive.
I also have now started going to the gym in the morning before
work which I could not have imagined fitting into my schedule
before Sherpa. Most importantly of all, I am now achieving
a work/life balance!

increased my efficiency and effectiveness as a CEO. Sherpa
has given me a powerful system that allows me to be more strategic

I consider myself to be a reasonably organized
person—after all, my job as a Chief Technology Officer
for an IT outsourcing company is to manage project implementation
and monitor task resolution across a wide variety of clients
and both in-house and out-sourced personnel. Our in-house
project management and task tracking software combined with
Microsoft Outlook’s default configuration gave me a
reasonably good picture of my responsibilities at work.
But the Sherpa Workflow Program has had a dramatic effect
on my ability to relax at the end of the day. I’ve realized
now that I was practicing “management through anxiety”
and using worry as my method for prioritizing. I was also
working overtime to the tune of four to six hours per evening
(at my family’s expense) to “catch up” on
the e-mail and task tracking of the day. The small things
that slipped through the cracks I rationalized as being not
that important. The ones that came back to haunt me got re-prioritized
by worrying about them more.
Putting Sherpa’s program to work for me is already
having major impact on my ability to leave work at work and
truly relax and enjoy my family at home. The anxiety is truly
gone—I’m almost suffering from withdrawal! By
implementing the very practical methodologies that Sherpa
espouses, nothing falls through the cracks, I don’t
have to worry about what I might have forgotten, and my e-mail
is managed so that I never have to dig through anything wondering
if I’ve missed something in the flow.
I really like the fact that they don’t abandon you
to your own devices once you’ve learned the system.
The recurring coaching sessions (I was skeptical about the
time investment) have been absolutely necessary in turning
theory into practice. They help you build the habits that
stay with you, rather than just showing you the promise and
leaving you wishing that you had the discipline to put it
into practice. It’s like the difference between a book
on exercise and having a personal trainer.
I didn’t feel I needed the Sherpa program when I started—I
was merely testing the system the way we test software to
see if it was an appropriate tool for our staff and our clients.
I now believe that everyone needs this kind of organizational
training and coaching to stay in the zone without going crazy
in the modern workplace. I’ll be sending all my staff
and recommending it to my clients.

The Sherpa Workflow Program has proven a
brilliant solution to a problem I wasn’t even aware
I had. Once I adopted it, I realized how very inefficient
my approach to managing my workflow had been. Now I’m
getting more work done with greater focus in less time.

NYCA was born and the engine was just starting
to run. The most important thing was that we had clients to
service. But in the early days we didn't give much thought
to how our network folders and files were structured.
As the agency grew we spent a lot of time trying
to locate important files. Many times we resorted to sending
emails back and forth to track down files. Worse yet, we had
some staff saving documents and spreadsheets on their local
drives because it was just too hard to decide where to file
them on the network.
The Sherpa Trees and Trails Program made us
pause, take time to collect our thoughts about what would
work best for the agency, and then gave us a methodology to
fit our needs. What we ended up with was a functional, easy-to-understand,
and easy-to-maintain folder and file structure on our network.
That increases our efficiency and helps us to serve more clients.
I value the fact that Sherpa was there to guide
and keep us on track. I particularly appreciate how the Sherpa
team collaborated with our group giving us the benefit of
